BACKSTORY

a good chunk of my life span here on earth has been spent making AMVs (Anime Music Video), the mainstream term nowadays would be "edits" which was popularized by tiktok and instagram mostly, but the community i come from has always been on Youtube. my first introduction to video editing was through filming Littlest Pet Shop toy videos and uploading them on Youtube then i later discovered making edits around the time My little pony friendship is magic started coming out in 2010. i mostly just observed AMVs for a couple years and then i finally started making them around the time i was 10 or 11 in 2012. i mostly edited to ponies the first few years then slowly started to branch out to other cartoons then finally Anime. i was editing actively pretty much nonstop from ages 11-22, i still love this hobby so dearly and i am so greatful for the amount of graphic design, color theory and composition it has taught me that i can carry onto other hobbies of mine. as it stands right now i am on hiatus so i can focus on building up and balancing my other bajillion hobbies and creative interests but i still strongly hope i can return to it one day! i really dislike how youtube is designed these days and uploading to it is honestly just a chore so i wanted to archive most of my work here!

FAQ

what is it exactly that you do?
vast majority of my work are short 5-10 second videos most commonly made for MEP videos that involve matching the clips or art of a show to songs. overtime i started incorporating more graphic designing, typography and motion graphics. for longer form videos that are 30 secs up to 3 mins i focus more on how the clips flow with the music and keep heavy motion graphics at a minimum.

MEP? what is that? dont you mean MAP (multi animator project)?
a MEP stands for Multi Editor Project where a host takes a song and cuts it up into 5-10 sec sections then people can apply to be in the video by editing it within the theme and deadline. MAPs are more commonly known, its a similar concept just editing instead of animating.

what programs do you use?
for the most part I use Sony Vegas! i sometimes like to use after effects too but very sparingly.
